ASTOR COURT, NEW YORK CITY
We undertook a renovation of an apartment in the storied pre-war building Astor Court on the Upper West Side of New York, which hadn’t seen updates in over 30 years. Our goal was to revitalize the space while incorporating existing pieces of art and furniture in fresh ways. Many of these items served as the foundation for our design schemes, such as a stunning needlepoint tapestry that became the focal rug in the living room. We opted for a neutral color palette accented with blues and greens in the public areas, while the primary suite features a soothing combination of blues and whites. Thoughtfully applied decorative finishes on the walls elevated each space, creating a sophisticated atmosphere that honors the apartment’s rich history.
